11 02 2007

Learn to love the challenges, and you will grow stronger.

Learn to love putting forth effort, and you’ll find yourself becoming more capable and effective.

Learn to love making a positive contribution, and your life will grow richer.

Learn to love being around people who are different than you, and you’ll gain many valuable new perspectives.

Learn to love discovering what you do not know, and your knowledge will greatly expand.

Learn to love truly listening, and your wisdom will increase.

Learn to love giving, and your life will be blessed. Learn to love being thankful, and you’ll know real abundance.

Learn to love the ordinary moments, and you’ll find each day filled with warm golden treasures.

Learn to love simply being, and you’ll rise to a whole new level of awareness.

Learn to love something about each day, and your days will bring rich fulfillment.

Learn to love, and you’ll know how to live.

The Way Forward

18 08 2006

Sometimes the world appears to be spinning out of control. Sometimes there seems to be no end to the distressing news.
Sometimes it feels like troubles are being piled on top of troubles. Sometimes it can look as if there could never be a way forward.

And yet, that way forward is always as close as your next thought. For no matter how difficult and discouraging life may have become, with each dawning moment, a new world of positive possibilities opens up to you.

From the darkest depths of despair, hope does indeed grow and take flight. Out of difficult situations, new strategies emerge for creating real value and spreading life’s goodness.

Remember that the future does not have to be an extension of the past. For you can act right now to create that future out of the abundance of positive possibilities.

Life always has its challenges, and those challenges are what enable you to bring real value to life. Whatever the circumstance, step boldly forward and choose to move the world positively ahead.

Have the Courage

16 08 2006

Have the courage to appear foolish, for the real fools are those who never attempt anything. Have the courage to make mistakes, for they can teach you like nothing else can.
Have the courage to take action. For even though your actions carry the possibility of failure, if you never act then you are certain to fail.

Have the courage to live each day fully, with enthusiasm and a generous spirit. Though there are many problems in this world, there are a whole lot more positive possibilities.

Have the courage to do what is right instead of what is easiest or most convenient. It will earn you the respect of others and, even more importantly, the respect of yourself.

Have the courage to see and accept things for what they are. That will put you in position to make a real difference.

Have the courage to love, to speak your mind, to follow your curiosity and your passions. Have the courage to give of yourself, for the goodness you give will come back to you over and over again.

Even the smallest step

11 12 2005

A tiny little improvement is infinitely better than doing nothing. For those tiny little improvements add up.
A small word of encouragement is far better than no encouragement at all. Just imagine what it might mean to someone.

Today you have the opportunity to make the world a better place. Much more likely than not, that opportunity will come in the form of something seemingly insignificant.

Yet though it may seem unimportant at the time, though no one may notice, a small positive act can have a big positive impact. Because it can create a positive momentum.

Even the small achievements are achievements. Even the smallest step in the direction of your goal will bring you closer to that goal, much closer than if you had done nothing.

When you’re able to take giant strides, by all means do so. When you’re not, then take whatever step you can, make whatever improvement you can, offer whatever kindness you can.

The positive momentum you establish and maintain will make more of a difference than you might imagine. Even the smallest step counts in a big way.

A matter of choice

21 08 2005

Immaturity is thinking that you have all the answers.
Wisdom is knowing that you don’t.

Weakness is wanting to control everything around you.
Strength is gracefully accepting and valuing what is.

Insecurity is the constant, gnawing desire to have more and
more. Confidence is knowing that you already are enough.

Failure is thinking that you can advance yourself by pushing
others down. Success is understanding that the more you lift
others up, the more you’ll be lifted yourself.

Despair is committing yourself to shallow, superficial
things that too soon will wither and die. Joy is filling
your world and your life with the things that truly
matter.

Every moment, you are fully capable of living with wisdom,
strength, confidence, success and joy. It’s not a matter of
chance, but always a matter of choice.

And you can make the choices now that will surely take you
there.

Let your efforts flow

8 08 2005

Ttrying too hard can often be as unproductive as not trying at
all. Pushing yourself too hard sends an unspoken yet
powerful message that you lack confidence in your own
efforts.

Instead of forcing your efforts, seek to simply let them
flow. Instead of being consumed with thoughts of how much or
how little progress you’re making, focus on the real
substance of the effort.

When you wander a little off track, there’s no need to
despair or to work yourself up over it. Put that energy into
pointing yourself back in the right direction.

Real progress will come at the pace at which you can give
yourself fully and sincerely to the effort. If you attempt
to rush the process, you may accumulate some meager tokens
of success, but you will fall short of achieving real
success itself.

Life already has enough pressures. There is no need to add
more by pressuring yourself. Relax and let your efforts
flow. That is how you can be your very best.

Smile on Life

1 08 2005

Smile

Give the world a smile today. Smile at nothing
and it becomes something, something warm and precious to smile about.
Look at life with loving eyes. You’ll see so very much to love and to
appreciate.

Where life has been, and where it is going, converge in the moment that
is now. Give your best, be your best right now, for now is everything
with which you can work.

Think the most powerful, positive, uplifting thought you can imagine,
and ask yourself this. How can you express that positive power right
now?

Smile on life with your own special smile, right now. And life will smile back in ways that will truly delight you.

— Ralph Marston
